류샤오간(Liu Xiaogan)북경대학교(北京大學校)에서 박사학위를 받았으며, 북경대학교, 하버드대학교, 프린스턴대학교, 싱가포르대학교, 홍콩중문대학교 등에서 강의하고 연구하였다. 저서로 『장자철학과 그 변천(Classifying the Zhuangzi Chapters)』, 『우리의 종교(Our Religions)』, 『노자와 도덕경(Lao-tzu and the Tao-te-ching)』, 『노자의 종교와 철학(Essays on Religious and Philosophical Aspects of the Laozi)』 등이 있다. 대표작
